Some chars look wrong in the fancy design font

When using the fancy font, some characters don't look right.
In these images, you can see two servers using custom characters in their MOTD:
As you can see, some characters are not affected by the fancy font and the text looks very weird.
This issue does not happen when using the vanilla design as seen here:
