A crash has been fixed when opening the Settings menu with the Vanilla theme
We've rebuilt the LabyMod settings from the ground up. The old menus grew over the years and honestly, things ended up scattered all over the place. That's fixed now. Everything lives in one menu. Settings, mods, addons, widgets, all in one central place. Even the Addon Store is built in, so you can browse, install, and configure addons without leaving the menu once. The Widget Editor moved in too. Your HUD widgets and client settings now sit side by side. No more jumping between screens. And interacting with it all feels different:
Place widgets straight from the settings. Drag a widget right out of its settings panel and drop it anywhere on your HUD. Works for addon widgets too.
Live previews. Many settings now show you what a change does before you apply it. Widgets get a preview right inside their settings panel, you can even put a game scene behind it to see how things will actually look. More previews are coming over time.
Search that actually finds things. Start typing and you'll get results across all settings, mods, addons, and widgets, no matter how deep they're buried. One click takes you straight there. A few smaller things worth mentioning:
The NEW badge got smarter. When something new lands inside a mod or category, the parent gets marked too, so nothing slips past you after an update.
Global widget settings are gone. Shared widget settings now have an "apply to all" button instead, set it once, apply it everywhere.
The Fancy theme got a new font and a round of design improvements.
Smoother animations, subtle click sounds, and a general polish across the whole menu.
There's a new Minecraft Fixes section that bundles our quality-of-life fixes for the base game. And as usual: plenty of bug fixes and performance improvements on top.

Faster startup times! We reworked the startup process. The gains scale with the game version: 1.8.9 starts ~21% faster, while 26.1.2 sees a massive ~72% reduction in startup time (roughly 3.7× faster).
The shop has moved: clicking the Shop tab now takes you to our shop website instead of opening the old ingame shop.

The Compatibility Update makes LabyMod compatible with the vast majority of the most popular Forge and Fabric mods. Just play with the mods you love, and LabyMod runs alongside them.
Mod Compatibility
Mod compatibility has been massively improved for both Fabric and Forge. More mods now work out of the box than ever before, reducing the need for manual fixes and workarounds when building your setup.
Faster Version Support
Support for newer Fabric versions now arrives faster, and updates to the Fabric Loader are delivered more quickly as well. This means less waiting after a new release before you can get back to playing with your favorite mods.
Added support for Minecraft 26.2-snapshot-8

We’re excited to introduce the next update for LabyMod, bringing major improvements to core features and enhancing the way you connect and play with others. This update focuses on deeper integration, smoother visuals, and an overall more seamless experience especially when playing together with friends.
Worldsharing is a completely new system that replaces the previous LAN Sharing feature. It has been rebuilt from the ground up and is now fully integrated into LabyMod, offering a more stable, reliable, and synchronized way to share your worlds with friends.
A new server list has been introduced to improve how you discover and join sessions. You can now:
This allows you to jump into games faster and stay connected with your friends more easily.
Staying connected is now more convenient. With Auto Reconnect built into LabyMod, you can quickly return to your game after connection interruptions without manual effort.
Your privacy is now better protected. With the new IP Protection feature, your real IP address is no longer sent when pinging servers. This helps prevent unwanted exposure of your network information and improves overall security while playing online.
Menu Blur has been fixed and now works reliably across all supported versions. In addition, a new setting called Enhanced Contrast improves the readability of the interface while blur is enabled, making menus clearer and easier to use.
Motion Blur has been completely overhauled and now uses a per-pixel velocity-based approach. This results in smoother and more accurate visual effects, especially during fast movements.
Please note that Motion Blur is currently not compatible with OptiFine and Iris.
We have fixed a variety of bugs and improved overall stability across the client. This includes minor UI fixes, performance optimizations, and general quality of life improvements to ensure a smoother experience.
Minecraft versions from 1.8.9 to 1.21.11 will use Java 21 for the time being until server owners stop corrupting their resource packs

We've rebranded from "LabyMod Launcher" to Laby Launcher. The new name reflects what the launcher has become: it's no longer just for LabyMod.
You can now create instances for Vanilla, Fabric, Forge, Quilt and more, each with its own version, mods and configuration. And if you're coming from another launcher, you can import your existing setups from other launchers (e.g. MultiMC/Prism), with automatic detection doing most of the work for you.
The entire launcher has been redesigned around our new design language we recently used in our website relaunch. The overview, settings, news and logs have all been rebuilt to be cleaner and easier to navigate.
Alongside the visual rework, we added management features for mods, addons, resource packs, shaders, screenshots and servers directly in our launcher. The skin & cape library now loads faster, supports uploading your own skins, and includes a 3D cape preview.
Performance was a major focus this release. Startup no longer blocks on bad network or outages - alongside faster downloads for game files. On top of all the new work, we've cleaned up a huge backlog of long-standing bugs and broken behavior that had piled up over the years.
