INVALID_CONFIG error when installing LM for MC Launcher

When accessing the download page from LabyMod and pressing on Other the user has the option to select the LabyMod 4 installer for the official Minecraft launcher or MultiMC Launcher. However some users have reported following issue when installing LabyMod for these versions 1.8.9 and 1.12.2 The installation goes without any issues, however upon launching LabyMod 4 for the 1.8.9 or 1.12.2 the user will receive a error notification:

Reproduction steps:

  1. Download the LabyMod installer for the official Minecraft launcher or MultiMC.
  2. Run the installer.
  3. Install the 1.8.9 or 1.12.2 for the Minecraft launcher.
  4. After the installation finished launch the Minecraft launcher.
  5. Select the new installed LabyMod installation in the Minecraft Launcher.
  6. Try to launch the LabyMod installation.
  7. Notice the error notification as seen in the screenshot above.

Observed result:
Launching LabyMod 4 for the 1.8.9 and 1.12.2 in the Minecraft launcher will result into the user receiving a error notification and the LabyMod installation cannot be used for the installed version.

Expected result:
LabyMod 4 should start without any issues in the Minecraft version 1.8.9 and 1.12.2 when installing it for the Minecraft Launcher.

Operating System: Windows 11
Minecraft Version: 1.8.9 and 1.12.2
