LabyMod 4 injects a newer LWJGL version to Minecraft 1.8.9, possibly to fix mouse polling rate issues on Windows.

However, on macOS, there's a major side effect that makes especially PvP difficult: There is no discrete scrolling and while shifting, the scroll bar will not work.

The simplest way for LabyMod devs to fix this would likely be to just add an option either in-game or the launcher to disable new LWJGL injection. To my knowledge, macOS does not have polling rate issues (with at least 1000 hz mice) in Vanilla 1.8.9, so macOS users don't really have a reason to have this anyway. It just makes the game worse or even unplayable.

It might be possible to hard code or bring the mouse input settings from newer MC versions to 1.8.9, and implement other fixes for the shift + scroll issue, but that really might not be worth it. I have also noticed that my aim isn't as accurate with LM4 as with LM3/Vanilla 1.8.9 despite using the same exact settings. I haven't really figured out what it is, but something about the mouse movement just feels different.
