Multi-Instanced .minecrafts across game versions

Description

I see an option for multi-instances on the launcher, but it doesn't have any context or do anything. I'm not sure if this is being implemented later, or is something entirely different, but I would like to be able to specify that I want to launch 1.8.9 with this instance, while I want to launch 1.19 with an entirely different instance of the game, like I do with Prismlauncher and MultiMC.

    With the option off you can only start one instance, then the launch button is red. With it on the button stays blue and you can start multiple instances at the same time

    Ooh, alright. Well I need to disable that because I've accidently launched the game on multiple occasions. Thanks for the information. I still would love if my suggestion were to be implemented in the future.
